Making volunteering with Bright Futures UK simpler

Volunteero x BFUK Announcement (1)

Volunteering should be about making a difference, not managing unnecessary admin.

That’s one of the reasons we’ve introduced Volunteero as the new home for the Bright Futures UK volunteer community.

As we continue to grow the number of children and young people we support, our volunteer community is growing too. We want to make sure the systems behind our programmes make volunteering as simple, accessible and enjoyable as possible.

What does Volunteero mean for our volunteers?

Volunteero brings key parts of the volunteering experience together in one place.

For our volunteers, that means a simpler way to manage their involvement with Bright Futures UK, keep up to date and stay connected with our team.

Having one central platform also means there is less need to keep track of information across multiple places. The aim is simple: less time spent on admin and more time focused on supporting young people.

Supporting our growing volunteer community

Volunteers are at the heart of so much of our work.

Our Tutors help young people continue learning when illness has disrupted their education. Our Mentors provide encouragement, guidance and insight as young people think about their next steps. Our Befrienders provide valuable friendship and connection. And our Workshop Volunteers help us create engaging experiences for children and young people in hospital and community settings.

Behind every one of those relationships is a volunteer giving their time, skills and energy to support someone else. As that community grows, having the right tools in place becomes increasingly important.

Volunteero will help our team manage volunteering more effectively while creating a smoother experience for the people who generously give their time to us.

Volunteering on the go

The Volunteero app also means volunteers can access their volunteering information directly from their phone. That makes it easier to keep everything together and manage volunteering around work, studies, family life and other commitments.

For us, improving the volunteer experience isn’t about introducing technology for the sake of it. It’s about making it easier for people to give their time and making sure they feel informed, connected and supported throughout their journey with Bright Futures UK.

Thinking about volunteering?

There are lots of ways to support Bright Futures UK. You could become a Tutor, Mentor or Befriender, get involved in our Workshops or explore other opportunities across our growing volunteer community.

By giving your time, you can help a child or young person stay connected to their education, their future and the things that matter to them during serious illness.

We’d love to have you involved.
