Josh Pelled

Chief Executive Officer

As Founder and CEO of Bright Futures UK, my role is rooted in both personal experience and passion. Having twice faced cancer as a child and teenager, I know first-hand the challenges that come with missing long periods of school. Those experiences inspired me to build the support I wished had been available to me – and that vision became Bright Futures UK.

Since launching the charity in 2017, I’ve been proud to see it grow into the UK’s only organisation dedicated to helping young people aged 5–24 continue their education during and after serious illness. From tutoring and mentoring to befriending and in-hospital workshops, our programmes are designed to meet each young person’s unique needs with care, flexibility and understanding.

Every day, I feel grateful to work alongside such a passionate team, incredible volunteers, and inspiring young people. Together, we’re proving that illness should never define a future – and that every young person deserves the chance to learn, thrive, and reach their potential.

Tara Connelly

Programme mANAGER

As Programme Manager at Bright Futures UK, my role allows me to combine my passion for education with my desire to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. With a background in education, I’ve always believed that every child should have access to learning, no matter the challenges they face. During my time at BFUK, I’ve worked across various departments, supporting both volunteers and children and young people, particularly in hospital settings. Currently, I support the fantastic people in our programmes team and oversee the delivery of our programmes.

At Bright Futures UK, we believe that illness should never define a person’s future. I’m deeply committed to our work, supporting children and young people in their exciting journeys. I believe in the transformative power of learning, and each day, I feel grateful to work alongside passionate individuals who share our mission to empower children and young people who have experienced illness.

Chloe Tyler

Senior Volunteer Coordinator

As Senior Volunteer Coordinator at Bright Futures UK, I’m incredibly passionate about the educational equity work that Bright Futures UK does to support children and young people. I’m excited to bring my enthusiasm to my role and to work alongside such a wonderful team!

When I’m not working, you can usually find me with a book in hand, exploring the outdoors, or experimenting in the kitchen!

Laura Farrington

Senior Workshop Coordinator

As Senior Workshop Coordinator, I work directly with children and young people in hospitals, delivering hands-on workshops that give them the chance to be creative, learn new skills, discover new interests, and connect with their peers. Seeing their confidence grow and their creativity flourish is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

I enjoy collaborating with volunteers who are passionate about their craft or experts in their field, to curate a varied and high quality programme of activities. Together, we make every session inclusive, engaging and meaningful.

I am delighted to also be involved in Bright Futures’ advocacy work, supporting young people to have a real say in the services that affect them.

I feel incredibly lucky to do a job I love and to work alongside such a dedicated team. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, and it’s a privilege to be part of a charity that is making a real difference in young people’s lives.

Rebecca Grosvenor

Volunteer Recruiter

As Volunteer Recruiter at Bright Futures UK, my role allows me to connect passionate individuals with our mission to tackle educational inequity. With a background in education and a strong belief that no young person should be left behind, I’m committed to building a volunteer community that reflects empathy, dedication, and lived experience.

I support volunteers throughout the onboarding process and attend outreach events to promote the impactful programmes we offer. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is hearing our volunteers’ stories, journeys, and the unique perspectives they bring to BFUK.

I’m proud to be part of a team that shares a vision for inclusive education and empowers young people to thrive, no matter the challenges they face. I’m excited to continue growing our incredible volunteer network and to connect with our wider community in meaningful ways.

Sienna Bespolka

FUndraising Assistant

My role is all about raising the vital funds and support that ensures young people across the country receive the assistance they need. I’m incredibly fortunate to be part of a team that makes a real difference for those facing tough challenges due to illness, enabling them to continue their learning journey and chase their dreams.

I focus on a variety of fundraising activities, from engaging with our generous supporters to building partnerships that help expand our reach and impact. It’s truly rewarding to know that my efforts help keep the incredible work at Bright Futures UK moving forward.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking through scenic landscapes or exploring new places. I also enjoy spending time in the kitchen, especially when I can bake something delicious to share with family and friends.
Brittany Visconti

Programme Coordinator

As Programme Coordinator at Bright Futures UK, I’m passionate about supporting young people to reach their goals. Having moved to the third sector following a career in primary school teaching, I feel lucky to be part of a charity that puts young people’s needs, voices, and futures at the heart of everything it does.

When I’m not working, I love being outdoors, exploring new places, baking, getting stuck in a good book, or relaxing with some crochet. I’m proud to be part of all of the brilliant things happening at Bright Futures UK!

Eilidh Nimmo

Communications Manager

As Communications Manager, I have the privilege of telling the story of Bright Futures UK, and sharing the transformative work that the charity does. Having worked in various sectors delivering brand marketing campaigns and projects, it’s exciting to be part of a charity that seeks to grow and increase its reach and impact across the UK.

It’s amazing to be part of a highly motivated team with a shared mission working towards education equity, with lived-experience at the heart of everything that we do.

Having recently navigated a rebrand, my core aim for the charity is to raise brand awareness, and I can’t wait to share the stories of the young people, families, and volunteers who make up the wonderful BFUK community.
