Bright Futures UK is the only charity in the UK supporting children and young people to keep learning during serious illness.
Introduction
Educating young people through long-term illness
Bright Futures UK was founded by people with lived experience of the challenges we aim to solve. We understand firsthand how a long-term illness can disrupt not only a young person’s health, but also their education, friendships, and future opportunities.
Our mission is simple: to bridge the gap between education and illness by offering personalised, flexible support to young people across the UK whose learning has been interrupted by prolonged health conditions.
Bright Futures UK is committed to driving improvements in the way children and young people with long-term illness are supported in education. We use our expertise and the voices of those with lived experience to push for more responsive, responsible, and robust support systems.
By collaborating with young people, families, parliamentarians, and a range of partners, we aim to ensure that no child’s education is left behind because of illness. Together, we can create lasting, positive change.
There are many ways to engage with us, whether you’re a young person looking for support, someone keen to volunteer, or a donor who wants to help us grow.
