Why Befriending Matters

Serious illness can often leave young people feeling cut off from their peers. Befriending provides a safe, supportive connection – whether through chatting, playing games, or exploring creative activities – that helps them feel seen, valued, and less alone.

Flexible Volunteering

Befriending takes place online and can be easily arranged around your availability. Whether you share a weekly hobby or simply enjoy regular conversations, your time will have a lasting impact.

Gain New Skills

Volunteering as a befriender strengthens communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills – qualities that are invaluable in both personal and professional life. You’ll also gain experience in supporting the wellbeing of young people.
